Pres. Raisi: Tehran-Damascus strategic ties must expand

Tehran, IRNA – President Ebrahim Raisi pointed to the importance of Iran-Syria economic cooperation and stressed that in order to expand economic ties the two countries should first strengthen their strategic relations.

President Raisi made the remarks in a meeting with Head of the Syrian National Security Office Brigadier General Ali Mamlook.

The Iranian president emphasized that the comprehensive Iran-Syria relations need to be further deepened at all possible levels, adding that the coalition between the two nations is truly unbreakable.

President Raisi referred to the unique resistance of the Syrian people in confrontation with the terrorist groups, stressing that the territorial integrity of Syria need to be preserved.

“The enmity of the oppressor powers against the regional nations has not decreased and the United States is after creating security problems for Syria, this time in a new form,” he added.

Commemorating the martyrs of campaign against terrorism, including Martyr Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, he said that Syria is on the frontline of war against the Zionist regime and the Islamic countries and nations must unite for confrontation against moves of that usurper regime.

Brigadier General Mamlook, for his part, conveyed the warm greetings of President Bashar al-Assad to President Raisi, the Iranian nation and government, adding that his government will never forget Iran’s support for Syria in campaign against the terrorists.

He also said that Syria is on full alert about the suspicious moves made by some Arab countries in naturalizing ties with the Zionist regime.
