President appoints Dr Komeijani as Governor of Central Bank

The President appointed Dr Ali Akbar Komeijani as the Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Dr Hassan Rouhani appointed Dr Ali Akbar Komeijani as Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the proposal of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and with the approval of the Cabinet.

According to Paragraph (6) of the Act approved by the Expediency Discernment Council, in case of dismissal, resignation or death of the Governor of the Central Bank, a new Governor must be appointed within one month and the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank is responsible for a maximum time of one month.
