Bandar Abbas, IRNA – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi paid a visit on Thursday to Shahid Rajaei port in Hormuzgan Province, southern Iran in his 15th provincial trip since taking office.
President Raisi observed loading and offloading process of different types of cargo, especially basic and strategic goods.
He also attended the Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) in Shahid Rajaei port and had a friendly conversation with the staff, underlining improvement of maritime rescue and security services in international and territorial waters.
Hormuzgan Province Ports and Maritime Organization Director Alireza Mohammadi gave a report on the services rendered to the vessels navigating through the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The VTS center in Shahid Rajaei port is among the most sensitive and busy maritime hubs in Iran.
Shahid Rajaei port MRCC carries out over 60 percent of maritime rescue operation in Iranian waters.
