Public business minister confers with Rosatom delegation on means of boosting investments, joint cooperation


Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation during his meeting with Murad Aslanov, the head of the regional office of Russia’s “Rosatom” company in Egypt, a leading company in the field of energy and nuclear technology.

The meeting, which took place Friday 9/8/2024 at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, covered discussions on the many promising investment opportunities within the companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector and the available forms of partnership in various sectors, including renewable and clean energy, metal, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.

Shimi praised the strong and historic relations between Egypt and Russia, emphasizing the ministry’s interest in strengthening cooperation and partnerships with both local and foreign private sectors and attracting investment to support the national industry and localize technology. He also highlighted the facilities and incentives provided by the state to suppor
t and encourage investors and to overcome any obstacles they may face.

For their part, the Rosatom delegation outlined the company’s activities and areas of operation through its 300 companies and new projects, with a presence in around 60 countries. The delegation confirmed Russia’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Egypt and prioritizing it in the company’s work strategy, explaining that Egypt is considered a gateway to the markets of the Middle East and Africa.

The Russian company’s delegation expressed interest in several partnership and investment opportunities within the ministry’s affiliated companies.
