Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Monday having received the new Finnish Ambassador’s credentials said “we hope that the European Union and the European countries can progress towards strategic independence and separate themselves from the US expansionist policies because US unilateralism is not in the interest of the world.”
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi received the credentials of five foreign ambassadors in Tehran on Monday.
“We hope to see good and brilliant ties between the two countries during your tenure,” said President Raisi on Monday while receiving the copy of the credentials of the new Finnish Ambassador.
Emphasizing the need for Europe to adhere to its commitments to Iran, Raisi said while addressing the new Finnish ambassador that “we hope to see the expansion of Iran-Finland relations on the eve of the 90th anniversary of ties between the two countries and during your tenure”.
The new ambassador of Finland to the Islamic Republic of Iran, for his part, in the meeting said that the diplomatic relations between the two countries have always been good, and in December this year, these relations will become 90 years old.
He described Iran as one of the key players in the region and expressed his willingness to work with Iran to resolve regional issues, including Afghanistan.
“Finland has had good investments in Iran in the past and we want to return to that level of relations now,” he said.
The Iranian president said on Monday in the meeting of the new Kyrgyz Ambassador that the current level of trade and economic ties between Iran and Kyrgyzstan is not favorable and the level of mutual cooperation should be improved by using the existing capacities.
Raisi added that considering the two countries’ membership in various regional organizations, including the ECO and SCO, are suitable for mutual cooperation in the fields of trade and transit.

The new Kyrgyz Ambassador to Tehran, for his part, in the meeting, congratulated Iran on the start of its permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, saying that Iran’s presence as a key member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization could pave the way for further expansion of Tehran-Bishkek relations.
He considered trade relations, joint ventures, and transit as the most important capacities available for expanding the interactions between the two countries and said: “The 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is a good opportunity to design solutions for expanding relations between the two countries in various fields.”
Iran interested in expanding ties with Belgium in economic field
Iranian President on Monday at the meeting of the new Belgian Ambassador said that Iran is interested in expanding economic and trade cooperation with Belgium.
“Iran is interested in expanding economic and trade cooperation with Belgium and Europe, but should not let the aliens influence these relationships, said Raisi in the meeting of the new Belgian Ambassador.
Iranian President stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always adhered to its obligations, adding that nevertheless, European countries did not fulfill their obligations in the UN Security Council, European countries, whether in the JCPOA agreement or in other matters, should not act in such a way that the United States feels that Europe is its sphere of influence.
“The United States seeks to develop and impose its oppressive will on the world, but other countries should not allow the US unilateralism and encroachment to continue in different parts of the world,” President Raisi said.
“We hope that with the expansion of economic relations, the ties between Tehran and Brussels will be further strengthened,” said the new Belgian ambassador to Tehran, referring to the friendly history of ties between the two countries.
