Manama: The meeting of permanent representatives and senior officials began today in Manama to prepare for the Foreign Affairs Ministerial meeting ahead for the 33rd edition of the Arab Summit.
The meeting is chaired by Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who took over the presidency from the Saudi Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar, after Saudi Arabia chaired the 32nd Arab Summit.
The current meeting discusses the draft agenda for the summit, as well as draft resolutions for the items listed on the agenda and the draft final declaration to be issued by the Arab leaders.
The draft agenda also includes several key items addressing various issues related to joint Arab action in political, economic, social, cultural, security, and cooperation with international and regional groupings.
These items include the report of the presidency of the 32nd Arab Summit on the activities of the Follow-up Committee fo
r Implementing Decisions and Commitments, as well as the report of the Arab League Secretary-General on the progress of joint Arab work.
