Road General Authority Prepares Madinah Roads for Pilgrims

Madinah: The Roads General Authority has carried out a series of maintenance and safety works on Madinah’s road network, in line with its announcement of the readiness of all roads leading to the sacred sites ahead of this year’s Hajj season, according to the Roads General Authority news release.

According to the statement, the authority surveyed and assessed more than 3,000 km of roads in Madinah and milled and resurfaced 132 km. It also repaired numerous potholes and cracks over a total of 21 km of roads and cleared and maintained 1,017 km of road shoulders. In addition, the authority removed 1,180 cubic metres of sand dunes from road reserves and cleaned over a thousand locations in valley drains.

These efforts demonstrate the authority’s commitment to providing a high-quality road network for pilgrims, ensuring smooth travel across Saudi Arabia’s road system, which ranks first globally for connectivity.
