ROSHN Group Launches MUSAHAMA Design Competition for Emerging Design Firms

ROSHN Group, a leading real estate developer and a PIF company, has announced today in a press release the launch of the MUSAHAMA Design Competition – Emerging Design Firms Track, in collaboration with PIF. Registration is open until the 30th of September.

According to the release, the program is aimed at selecting designs for facilities within the SEDRA community. Competition promotes local talent and aligns with Vision 2030.

The MUSAHAMA Design Competition: SEDRA Pedestrian Spine invites emerging architects, including final-year students, recent graduates, and local design firms, to shape the future of living in Saudi Arabia. Participants will design amenities for the SEDRA Pedestrian Spine, including a local mosque, neighborhood convenience center, early education center, and a park.

The competition features two tracks: one for Saudi students in their final year or recent graduates with a degree in architecture and another for emerging local architectural firms. The latter track is reserved for firms founded by Saudi nationals, based in Saudi Arabia, operating for less than 10 years, and employing fewer than 20 people.

According to the release, participants will benefit from professional webinars and an in-person workshop with leading local and international firms. Designs will be developed over 14 weeks, with winners announced in February 2025.

Entries will be judged on local material usage, design excellence, functionality, urban response, and sustainability. The top prize for the emerging design firms track is SAR400,000, with SAR300,000 for 2nd place and SAR200,000 for 3rd place.
