Russian Naval Aviation Destroys 1,252 Terrorist Targets in Syria over 2 Months
The Russian carrier-based aviation conducted 420 sorties, destroying 1,252 terrorist targets in Syria over two months, commander of the Russian military group in the country Col. Gen. Andrei Kartapolov said on Friday.
"Over two months, naval aviation pilots carried out 420 sorties (including 117 at night). Nearly all sorties were accompanied by severe hydrometeorological conditions. A total of 1,252 terrorist targets in Syria were destroyed," he said; Sputnik reported.
A group of Russian warships headed by the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, accompanied by the Pyotr Veliky battle cruiser, the Severomorsk and Vice-Admiral Kulakov anti-submarine destroyers, Admiral Grigorovich frigate and support vessels, carried out a counterterrorism operation in Syria starting on November 8.
