SAIP Conducts Field Visits to Raise Awareness, Measure Compliance of Establishments During Hajj Season

Makkah, The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) conducted several field visits to raise awareness and assess compliance of establishments during the Hajj season for the year 1445 AH. These visits aim to ensure respect for intellectual property and enhance awareness of the importance of compliance with intellectual property regulations and laws, thereby supporting creators in the Kingdom.

SAIP stated that it continues its efforts to protect intellectual property rights from violations. In this regard, it conducted over 900 visits to raise awareness and measure compliance of establishments during this year’s Hajj season, including more than 600 visits in Makkah and over 300 visits in Jeddah, covering more than 20 commercial complexes.

Additionally, SAIP said it received reports from the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority regarding more than 40 counterfeit trademarks for products exceeding 23,000 counterfeit items.

SAIP noted that the visits covered various commercial sectors, including household
goods, jewellery and watches, electronics and electrical appliances, cosmetics and perfumes, clothing, footwear, and accessories.
