Saudi Arabia Participates in Central Emergency Response Fund Advisory Group Meeting in Geneva


Geneva: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently participated in a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, as a member of the advisory group for the Central Emergency Response Fund, represented by the Assistant Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for Planning and Development, Aqeel bin Jumaan Al-Ghamdi.

The meeting agenda included discussions on managing the Central Emergency Response Fund, focusing on its annual results report and current and future priorities. Dr. Al-Ghamdi emphasized the importance of proactive work, diversifying funding sources, and prioritizing the needs of affected areas, particularly in the face of escalating humanitarian crises in the Middle East.

The advisory team members presented recommendations to enhance the role of the fund, including advancing humanitarian work, diversifying financial resources, involving local authorities and the private sector, and developing a reliable work mechanism to strengthen humanitarian roles and coordination of organization
s like the Central Emergency Response Fund and the OCHA office. This recommendation would involve constantly updating and providing required files to representatives of donor countries and advisory team members.
