Saudi Red Crescent Authority Gears Up for Busy Hajj Season


Makkah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) is pulling out all the stops to ensure the well-being of pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj season. The authority has meticulously planned and mobilized its resources to deliver high-quality medical care.

SRCA has deployed over 2,540 medical professionals, ambulance technicians, and administrative staff. These experts are strategically positioned across 98 ambulance centers, covering entry points, pilgrim routes, and holy sites.

To bolster its frontline response, SRCA has committed a significant portion of its ambulance fleet to the Hajj mission. This commitment includes 320 ambulances, 13 advanced response vehicles, and a dedicated air wing with seven air ambulances, two medical evacuation helicopters, and a support fleet of 15 motorcycles, 150 golf carts, 150 electric scooters, 27 electric bicycles, ten ambulance buses, and additional service vehicles.

SRCA has deployed over 96 medical repatriation personnel in Makkah. Recognizing pilgrims’ diverse backgroun
ds, translators will be available to support the reception and dispatch of ambulance calls, ensuring seamless communication for various medical situations encountered during Hajj.

SRCA is further bolstering its operations with the support of over 595 volunteers. These dedicated individuals will play a crucial role in assisting with ambulance services at various locations while educating and raising awareness among pilgrims about essential preventive measures to safeguard their health during Hajj.
