SDAIA to Organize Session In Partnership With UN And ICESCO On International Governance Of Artificial Intelligence Next Wednesday


Riyadh: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in collaboration with the UN Advisory Body for Artificial Intelligence and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), will host an international consultation session on artificial intelligence governance next Wednesday at the Authority’s headquarters in Riyadh. This event underscores the Kingdom’s leadership position in addressing global issues as an active participant in the international community.

This session coincides with SDAIA’s announcement yesterday of the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence in its third edition under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SDAIA, scheduled to take place from 10 to 12 September next in Riyadh.

The consultation session will be attended by UN Nations Advisory Board members, the Director-General of ICESCO, various
officials responsible for data governance and artificial intelligence worldwide, senior specialists in leading AI and technology companies, and individuals interested in this field from different countries worldwide. During the session, the UN report on artificial intelligence governance will be discussed, and attendees’ opinions and views will be heard to foster dialogue and collaboration between stakeholders. This will ensure that policies and measures taken reflect the needs and aspirations of the international community regarding artificial intelligence.
