SDRPY Inaugurates Five Model Schools in Yemen

The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) today inaugurated five model schools in the governorates of Shabwah, Abyan, Lahij, Al-Dhale, and Taiz. The schools join the model schools established by the program across various governorates in Yemen, supporting education and learning opportunities in the country.

The schools in Shabwah, Abyan, Lahij, and Al-Dhale were funded by SDRPY and implemented by the Social Fund for Development in Yemen, as part of support for Yemeni state institutions.

The projects to build and equip model schools aim to facilitate students’ access to quality education, ensure educational opportunities for all, and create new learning opportunities within an encouraging, well-prepared, and safe environment. The schools invest in students’ potential and abilities, contributing to enhancing comprehensive knowledge and raising the academic performance of students.

The model schools built by the program have contributed to creating an educational environment that e
nabled schools to implement their curricula and extracurricular activities, investing in the most important resource of human capital, and providing job opportunities through various educational institutions.

SDRPY’s projects and initiatives in the education sector have supported 11 Yemeni governorates of Taiz, Aden, Socotra, Al-Mahrah, Marib, Hadhramaut, Hajjah, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwah, and Al-Dhale. The initiatives have supported general and higher education, as well as technical and vocational training.
