Senior official expects good news regarding Vienna talks

Head of Iranian President’s office Mahmoud Vaezi said on Wednesday that he hoped good news to come from Vienna in the coming weeks about the ongoing talks on the possible return of the US to the Iran nuclear deal by removing sanctions against Iran.

Given the importance of the talks in Vienna, Iran observes the principles outlined by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Vaezi told reporters, highlighting the independent nature of foreign policy from domestic issues in the country.

He underlined that Iran’s negotiating team moves the talks forward as per the framework drawn by the Supreme Leader.

All the issues agreed upon so far, which mostly are economic ones, are considered only as mutually understood, Vaezi said, adding that Iran’s negotiating team has made it clear that these would be considered ‘final’ once all Iran’s demands are satisfied.

Vaezi went on to add that other issues are being discussed, and he hoped that there would be good news from the talks in the coming weeks.
