Serbian culture minister: Expansion of relations with Iran in Belgrade government’s agenda

Belgrade, IRNA – Serbian culture and information minister said in a meeting with Iranian ambassador in Belgrade on Monday that the expansion of comprehensive relations with Islamic Republic of Iran is on the agenda of the Serbian government.

Maja Gojkovic emphasized that the Serbian government is a true friend of Iran in her meeting with Ambassador Rashid Hassanpour, adding that taking advantage of the cultural capacities and commonalities we can expand comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The Serbian culture and information minister who had during the former Iranian government’s tenure visited Tehran as her country’s Parliament speaker said that it is hoped that after naturalizing of the status and elimination of the Coronal limitations, we will be witnesses to resuming the cultural and media cooperation to match the two countries’ potentials and capabilities.

The Iranian ambassador to Belgrade, for his part, reiterated in the meeting that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to improve comprehensive cooperation with Serbia Republic, especially in cultural, artistic, and media fields,” he said.

“The two countries’ relations have gone through positive and constructive developments within the recent months, which can eventually lead to a state visit of the Serbian President Alexandar Vucic of Iran,” he added.
