Snow covers Khalkhal in northwest Iran despite arrival of spring in coming days

Ardebil, IRNA – Khalkhal in south of northwestern Iranian province of Ardebil is covered in snow though blossoms are simultaneously visible in orchards.

Khalkhal is among the coldest regions in Iran; albeit the most beautiful ones.

According to the Saturday remarks of head of Khalkhal meteorological organization Gholamreza Golmoradi, cold weather and snowfall started to engulf Khalkhal and its counties last night.

Golmoradi said the snowfall still continues.

Farmers have been advised to be careful of not letting snow hurt the blooms, blossoms and the trees.

Annually, spring starts with Nowruz across Iran on March 20 (and sometimes on March 21).
