Riyadh, The Society of Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) held an Excellence Ceremony today to celebrate individuals who obtained professional accounting certificates for 2023.
The event recognized the achievements of 1,054 male and female accountants who obtained one of the following professional accounting certificates: SOCPA’s Fellowship, Value Added Tax Specialist, Accounting Technician, the Training Track for Government Accounting and Auditing, and the Professional Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards.
During the ceremony, the final of the international student competition in the accounting case study for the year 2024 took place. SOCPA and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) honoured the three teams, winning financial prizes out of 103 advanced teams from various Middle Eastern countries. Two teams from Damanhour University won first and second place and a team from Qassim University won third place.
The event also paid tribute to the pivotal leading entities that su
pported and attracted those who received SOCPA’s fellowship. The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, a government agency, was the top winner in its category. In the category of accounting companies, EY Company emerged as the winner, while Saudi Telecom Company (stc) was recognized as the highest entity in the private sector, with its employees obtaining the most fellowship certificates.
