Some European states made miscalculations about recent unrests in Iran: Amirabdollahian

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that some European states “unfortunately” made mistakes in analyzing the recent unrests in Iran as they were influenced by the propagandist campaign of the MKO terrorist group.

He made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Spanish counterpart José Manuel Albares in which they exchanged views on issues of bilateral importance.

The Iranian foreign minister appreciated the congratulatory message from the King of Spain to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on the occasion of the 44th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The Spanish minister, for his part, hailed cordial relations between the two countries, underlining the need for giving a boost to bilateral cooperation.

The two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in Ukraine, the course of cooperation between Iran and the UN nuclear agency, and the lifting of sanctions on Tehran.

The Spanish foreign minister also discussed some consular issues with Amirabdollahian.
