Islamabad, July 8, IRNA — Persian language summer course has started in Pakistan’s Islamabad with the presence of Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the representative of Saadi Foundation with an aim to develop and expand Persian language.
The new course was opened on Thursday at Iran’s cultural consulate and will last three months.
Students of the course will learn Persian at the basic level through books published by Saadi Foundation.
Ehsan Khazaei, Cultural Counselor of the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan, on the occasion spoke about the benefits of learning Persian language, and referred to the status and background of the Persian language and the cultural, historical and linguistic commonalities between the two Muslim countries of Iran and Pakistan.
He added that learning Persian language will make you familiar with Iranian culture and civilization and also understand the beautiful concepts of Persian literature and poetry.
Iran’s cultural advisor in Pakistan said because of the linguistic commonalities and script of Persian and Urdu, learning Persian is not a problem for Urdu speakers and they can do it sooner than others.
He said the existence of a large number of Persian manuscripts in Pakistan also shows the interest of the Pakistani people in the Persian language.
Khazaei added famous people and poets guide nations through their thoughts. “Rumi, Ferdowsi, Iqbal Lahori and Saadi and Hafez Shirazi do not belong to one land but to the entire world.” He also recited few verses of Iqbal Lahori in Persian on the occasion.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistani participants of the training course will be able to read, write and speak basic Persian.
