Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s National Football Team, Team Melli, are back in Tehran from the FIFA World Cup 2022 after it was eliminated from the international tournament in Qatar’s capital Doha.
The Iranian footballers returned to their country on Wednesday night, a day after they lost to the US 0-1 in their third and final match on Group B.
Also on the same group, Iranian players defeated Wales 2-0 on November 25, four days after they lost 2-6 to England.
Supporters of Team Melli and some Iranian officials gathered at the Imam Khomeini International Airport, near Tehran, to welcome the footballers.
