Tehran has various ideas for expanding ties with Baku, FM says

Baku, IRNA – Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amirabdollahian said that Tehran had various ideas for expanding its growing ties with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks on his arrival in Baku on Wednesday for a one-day trip to meet Azerbaijani officials.

He also expressed happiness over Iran’s growing and developing ties with Azerbaijan Republic and said that he will have meetings with senior officials in his schedule.

The Iranian foreign minister said that he had various ideas for expanding cooperation with Baku and that he would raise them in meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

He said that he had many contacts with his Azerbaijani counterpart in the last three months and they have agreed on good frameworks for expanding cooperation.

Amirabdollahian further elaborated that the frameworks would be finalized in his meeting with Aliyev which he believed would lead to increasing economic, business and cultural delegations exchange between Iran and Azerbaijan.
