Terrorists Fail to Break through Syrian Army Positions in Northern Homs

The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the country's Air Force, warded off a heavy attack of Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) in Northern Hama, forcing the terrorists to retreat from the battlefield.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra terrorists that tried to penetrate into the pro-government forces' positions near the village of al-Qabou and managed to fend off their attack, killing and wounding a number of militants and forcing the remaining pockets of them to flee towards their positions in al-Houleh region's settlements.

In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force launched heavy strikes on terrorists' positions in the town of Taldou in Northern Hama, inflicting several casualties on them.

Field sources confirmed on Saturday that the army's artillery and missile units pounded Al-Nusra's positions in the regions of Hawsh Abu Kalab, al-Mashari'a and Deir Foul, destroying the venue of a meeting of Al-Nusra commanders in Deir Foul.

Four terrorists were killed and 17 others injured in the attack, the sources continued.

They added that the artillery units also opened fire at Al-Nusra's gathering centers in al-Za'afaraneh and al-Farhanieh al-Qarbi in Northern Homs, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

The artillery and missile units, meantime, shelled ISIL's strongholds in al-Katibeh al-Mahjoureh, East of the town of al-Quaryatayn, Southwest of the city of Palmyra, the village of Hebreh al-Qarbi and Unq al-Hawa in Eastern Homs, leaving a number of terrorists dead or wounded and their military equipment destroyed.

The army's artillery and missile units also shelled the positions of Al-Nusra in the villages of Deir Foul and al-Sa'an al-Aswad in Northern Homs.

In the meantime, the army soldiers continued their attacks on ISIL's concentration center in Badiyeh (desert) of Palmyra (Tadmur) in Eastern Homs.

The country's air force also bombed ISIL's movements and centers in the town of al-Sukhnah and near the town of Arak and in Southern Badiyeh of Palmyra, inflicting several casualties on the terrorists.
