The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session in Jeddah today.

The Cabinet was briefed on the content of the message sent by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and on the content of the phone call His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister received from the president of the French Republic.

Minister of State, Cabinet Member and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet discussed cooperation and joint work with various countries and organizations, carried out to enhance the Kingdom’s position, and its regional and international role, serve common interests, and support stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.

The Cabinet commended King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) for implementing projects in 100 countries, in collaboration with international partners, which underscores the Kingdom’s com
mitment to delivering humanitarian aid and supporting communities affected by disasters and crises.

The Cabinet lauded the outcome of the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, convened recently in Makkah to strengthen Islamic solidarity, advocate moderation, and address the concerns of the Muslim world, thereby fostering unity and stability.

The Cabinet tackled other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, among which the following:

First:

Authorizing the minister of foreign affairs, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft general agreement for cooperation with San Marino.

Second:

Approving a memorandum of understanding between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic concerning exemption from obtaining short-stay visas by holders of diplomatic and special passports.

Third:

Approving a memorandum of understanding in the field of communications and information technology between the Saudi Communications, Space and Technology Commi
ssion and the Digital Cooperation Organization.

Fourth:

Approving a memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the field of modern transportation methods and railways between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Fifth:

Authorizing the minister of education, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Zambian Ministry of Education a draft memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation.

Sixth:

Authorizing the minister of transport and logistics services and chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, or a deputy, to discuss with the Brazilian side a draft protocol to amend the Air Services Agreement the two countries had reached.

Seventh:

Authorizing the minister of commerce and chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Accreditation Center, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the National Center of Accreditation in Kazakhstan a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of accreditation.

Eighth:

Authorizing the minister
of environment, water and agriculture and chairman of the board of directors of the National Center for Meteorology, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with China Meteorological Administration a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of meteorology.

Ninth:

Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and news exchange between the Saudi Press Agency and the Kuwait News Agency.

Tenth:

Approving a memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation for cooperation in implementing initiatives under the Oil Demand Sustainability Program.
