The Journalists Syndicate mourns journalist Taaima and demands an end to the occupation’s massacres against journalists

Ramallah – Ma’an – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourned the journalist Ali Ta’ima, who was martyred on Monday evening, as a result of the Israeli occupation’s bombing of the Mawasi area of ??Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, bringing the number of martyred journalists and workers in the Palestinian media sector to 163.

The union said in a statement that colleague Ta’ima (39 years old) was working as a photographer for Awda TV in the Gaza Strip, and the occupation directly targeted him while he was performing his journalistic work, which confirms the occupation’s persistence in continuing its bloody record of killing Palestinian journalists and committing the largest massacre against journalism in the world throughout history.

The Syndicate stressed that this ongoing massacre against Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip and all Palestinian territories requires decisive and firm intervention from the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and decisive measures to s
top these unprecedented crimes committed by the occupation forces, and to ensure the protection guaranteed to journalists under international humanitarian law and relevant international conventions.

Journalist Ali Taaima was killed in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a civilian car in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
