Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, discussed today, Monday, in a phone call with his Palestinian counterpart, Muhammad Al-Shlaydeh, bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
Shawani stressed the importance of the depth of the Iraqi-Palestinian historical relations and support for their fateful cause, and that the Ministry of Justice has completed the procedures for signing the agreement for the exchange of convicts and coordination and cooperation in the judicial and legal fields between the two parties.
The two sides discussed Iraq’s hosting of the thirty-ninth session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which is scheduled to be held in mid-October of this year, according to Iraq’s request submitted to the Arab League.
For his part, the Palestinian Minister of Justice appreciated Iraq’s steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, stressing his ministry’s readiness to cooperate in the judicial and legal fields between the two countries.
