The Minister of Planning chairs the second meeting of the committee charged with studying the economics of the oil and gas sector in Iraq


Baghdad: Today, Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, chaired the second meeting of the committee charged with studying the economics of the oil and gas sector in Iraq, with the aim of reaching appropriate mechanisms for approving real costs according to economic foundations, in a way that ensures improving the level of services provided to citizens, bridging the budget deficit and addressing development gaps.

The Ministry of Planning stated in a statement, ‘During the meeting, the reality of production quantities of various petroleum products was discussed, the volume of revenues achieved, the level of support provided to government institutions, the private sector, and citizens, and the trend towards expanding the area of uses of liquid gas in operating brick, cement, and automobile factories, in light of the increase in local production of gas.’
