The Pentagon acknowledges the death of a contractor in targeting the Ain al-Asad base

Baghdad – The US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) acknowledged today, Thursday, the death of a contractor in targeting the Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq yesterday.

A US Defense Spokesman said in a press conference at the Pentagon, “Yesterday, our forces responded to three drones targeting coalition forces at the Ain al-Asad base in western Iraq, and a contractor with the coalition forces died of a heart attack.”

He added, “An American base in Syria was targeted by a drone that was destroyed, causing minor casualties among the coalition forces.”

He stressed, “We will take the necessary measures to protect American forces, and we will enhance the deployment of our fighter aircraft in the region to provide additional capabilities.”

The Pentagon Spokesman stressed, “We have the ability to defend our interests in the region and deter any regional escalation or expansion of the conflict started by Hamas.”

He said, “We are still working to determine who is responsible for the recent attacks that targeted our forces, and we will take the necessary measures to protect our forces after the attacks on American soldiers in Iraq and Syria.”
