The President Stresses The Importance Of The Work Of Turkish Companies In Many Economic Sectors

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of the work of Turkish companies in many economic sectors and cooperation in the industrial fields, especially in rehabilitating Iraqi factories and strengthening trade between the two countries.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement, “The President of the Republic received today, Tuesday, at the Baghdad Palace, the Turkish Minister of Trade, Omar Polat, in the presence of the Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy.”

The statement added, “At the beginning of the meeting, the minister conveyed to the president the greetings of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while the President of the Republic sent his greetings and wishes to President Erdogan.

The President stressed the importance of strengthening the relations between the two countries in various fields, especially economic, trade and environmental, and developing them in order to achieve common interests.

The President of the Republic pointed out the need for continuous cooperation and coordination, especially in the field of water, in a way that enhances understanding, pointing to the importance of security and stability for the two countries.

For his part, Minister Omar Polat expressed his happiness at meeting the President of the Republic, stressing his country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Iraq in various fields and work to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue.

The Turkish minister indicated his country’s determination to develop trade and economic cooperation, noting that Iraq is an important trade center for Turkey.

He added that the recent period witnessed many contacts and visits by a number of officials in both countries, stressing in this regard that it is hoped that the envoy of Turkish President Faisal Oglu will pay a visit to Iraq soon.
