Tehran, IRNA – An Italian diplomat says the United States should come to terms with the reality that the world is no longer run on a unilateral system.
“The reality is that the US needs us sometimes more than we need them. It is more of a multipolar system than a unilateral one,” Andrea Margelletti told the IRNA, adding, “We need to discuss more we need to put aside the past to have a better future.”
Margelletti made the comments on the sidelines of the third edition of the Tehran Dialog Forum, a meeting organized by Iran to raise key issues about the current security and political situation in West Asia.
The Italian diplomat hailed the Tehran forum as an opportunity to discuss regional and international developments.
“ [It] is a very important location because we need to remember, especially in foreign affairs, you need to speak with everyone.”
“We truly believe in dialogue. We think that the only way to have peace is having a better understanding of others. It is important to meet each other because on a personal basis it is different than meeting on the web. We all share the same hope to live in a better world.”
