Riyadh: The Transport General Authority has emphasized the importance of using authorized carriers during the Hajj season, coinciding with the influx of pilgrims and visitors to Makkah, Al-Madinah, and Jeddah.

The authority has prepared various transportation options for pilgrims’ journeys, including public buses, taxis, ride-hailing apps, and car rentals. Over 355 buses have been designated for public transport within Makkah, and more than 27 buses within Al-Madinah, serving over 7 million beneficiaries during the last Ramadan and over 1 million in Al-Madinah.

In conjunction with the launch of the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services’ guide for Hajj 1445 AH, the authority noted that authorized carriers can be identified through this guide. They stressed the importance of operating passenger transport services according to regulations, mentioning that the fine for unauthorized passenger transport is 5,000 SAR. Authorized carriers offer numerous advantages, including safe travel in modern vehicles and
multiple payment methods, including e-payments.

The authority called on pilgrims to cooperate with campaign teams during the transportation phase, emphasizing the need to adhere to their designated buses to ensure their safety and facilitate the performance of their rituals.
