Transport minister orders action to upgrade SuperJet Egypt

Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir has directed SuperJet Egypt to keep working on a plan to upgrade the company through purchasing new buses and maintaining the efficiency of the current fleet.

Already, 16 new buses have joined the fleet, which now includes 223 buses. If everything goes according to plan, SuperJet Egypt’s fleet power will reach 350 buses in five years, while working on upgrading the efficiency of the operating buses.

This will guarantee SuperJet Egypt is always in the lead, Wazir said during a meeting of the company’s general assembly Friday.

Garages affiliated with SuperJet Egypt should serve as models, as well as its stations, Wazir said, also urging operation of new lines.

The final accounts and financial position of the company were endorsed during the meeting, the Transport Ministry said in a statement.

A central control room has been established to follow up bus movement, garages and stations, the statement said, adding that the online reservation and call center systems have also
been updated.
