Transportation Ministry records an earthquake near the Iraqi-Iranian border


The Ministry of Transport announced today, Sunday, that an earthquake was recorded near the Iraqi-Iranian border.

A statement by the Ministry stated that “the seismic observatories of the Ministry of Transport in the Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring Authority recorded an earthquake this afternoon, Sunday, near the Iraqi-Iranian border.”

The statement added that “the earthquake is about 25 km from the Iraqi-Iranian border,” noting that “the magnitude of the earthquake reached 3.9 degrees and was not felt by citizens living near the border.”
