Dozens of truck drivers demonstrated in front of the Maysan Governorate building in the center of Amarah, the governorate center, to demand protection from “unruly gangs.”
A number of them told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that they are being shot when they leave the port of Al-Shayeb by unknown armed gangs, to fight them with their livelihoods, calling on the security authorities to intervene immediately, hold these gangs accountable and provide them with protection.
