Turkish President stresses the need for international community to act to prevent Netanyahu from expanding his aggression in the region

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of his government are trying to spread war in the region by all means available to them.

Erdogan said in a speech during his meeting with representatives of some think tanks operating in the United States of America

on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA, that the international community must act urgently to prevent Netanyahu from expanding the scope of his aggression to include his war in the entire region, and pressure must be intensified on Israel to prevent it from committing more massacres.

Erdogan explained that his country is closely following the massacres committed by Israel in the Palestinian Gaza Strip since October 7.

He added that two-thirds of the civilians who lost their lives in the Israeli attacks, whose number exceeds 41,000, are women and children.

He continued: “There is a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza; 1.9 million people have been displaced, 70% of water resources and 75% of bakeries in the Strip have been destroyed, and 95% of health centers have been partially or completely damaged.”

He added: “200,000 homes have been partially destroyed, 80,000 homes have become uninhabitable, and access to clean water sources is almost impossible, and diseases such as hepatitis and polio have reached alarming levels.”

He stressed that ensuring a permanent ceasefire and the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid are Turkey’s priorities.

The Turkish President touched on the fight against terrorism, saying: “Our fight against terrorist organizations is for the security of Turkey and the region as well.”

Erdogan said: While we support the territorial integrity of our neighbors; Syria and Iraq, at the same time we are fighting with determination against all kinds of threats targeting our country from the territories of our neighbors.
