Turkish President strongly condemns the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned the treacherous assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.

Erdogan said in a post on the X platform today, Wednesday: “I strongly condemn and denounce the treacherous assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.”

He added: “The assassination of Haniyeh is a cowardice aimed at undermining the Palestinian cause, the glorious resistance of Gaza, and the just struggle of our Palestinian brothers, and undermining their morale and intimidating them.”

He continued: “The goal of assassinating my brother Haniyeh is the same goal of the heinous assassinations that Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi and many political figures in Gaza were subjected to, but as has happened until today, the Zionist barbarism will not be able to achieve its goal of eliminating this cause.”

He added: “With a stronger stance from the Islamic world and the alliance of humanity, this terrorism practic
ed by Israel in the region, especially the injustice and genocide in Gaza, will end, by God willing, and peace will prevail in our region and the world.”

He added: “To achieve this, we in Turkey will continue to do everything in our power and by all available means, and we will knock on all doors, and we will support our brothers in Gaza with all our capabilities and strength.”

Erdogan stressed that Turkey will continue to work to establish a free and independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He concluded his post by saying: “I ask God for mercy and forgiveness for my brother Ismail Haniyeh, who was martyred as a result of this despicable attack, and I offer my condolences to his family and our brothers in Gaza, Palestine and the Islamic world.”
