Turkish President to partake in NATO Summit


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to begin a visit to the United States of America on Tuesday to partake in the NATO Summit that would be held in Washington.

The Turkish Presidency’s communication department said in a statement on Monday that Erdogan’s visit to the US would begin on July 9 and conclude on the 11th of the same month.

The statement added that the Turkish president would hold bilateral talks with a number of heads of state and governments participating in the summit. The forecast top-level talks would address challenges facing the coalition and support for Ukraine.

Moreover, combating terrorism at the international level looms high on the summit agenda.

The senior-level event will also involve leaders from the NATO partners in Asia, and Pacific nations namely Australia, Japan South Korea, and New Zealand, in addition to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and senior officials of the European Union member states.
