A force from Basra Operations Command arrested today, two persons accused of drug trafficking in Abi Al-Khasib district, south of the governorate.
Basra Operations Command’s media stated in a statement: “The suspects were arrested with the participation of a detachment from the National Security and the Border Guard Command, according to intelligence information.”
It added that: “10 kilograms of narcotic hashish were seized in the possession of the accused.”
In the same context, the Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of (380) narcotic pills hidden inside a box under a truck at Mandali border crossing in Diyala governorate.
It stated in a statement that: “A committee was formed, a formal arrest report was organized, and the truck driver was referred to Mandali customs police station to take appropriate legal measures against him.”/ End
