Typhoon Yagi Weakens After Devastating Hanoi

The Vietnamese government reported today that typhoon Yagi has weakened after causing the deaths of at least three individuals in Hanoi and flooding numerous areas.

The storm uprooted thousands of trees and damaged houses.

Authorities have cautioned about continued heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides in northern Vietnam.

The storm, which weakened from a formidable typhoon, has claimed the lives of at least seven individuals and left dozens injured since making landfall Saturday afternoon, as per preliminary assessments.

State media confirmed that Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, the busiest airport in northern Vietnam, has resumed operations after shutting down Saturday morning.
