Yemen Conducts New Attacks on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, U.S. Aircraft Carrier

Tehran: Yemen has announced new ‘successful’ attacks on Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport and the United States’ USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in response to the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. Army spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced the operations early on Tuesday, saying that they were successful and carried out using drones, cruise and ballistic missiles.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Yemeni armed forces targeted Ben Gurion Airport, near Tel Aviv, with a Zulfiqar ballistic missile and Palestine 2 hypersonic missile. In a separate operation, the spokesman said, the Yemeni armed forces launched an attack on USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its accompanying vessels in the Red Sea, using drones and cruise missiles.

Saree stated that the attack on the aircraft carrier was the second in 24 hours. He emphasized that Yemen will continue to block the passage of Israel-linked vessels in the high seas, and will keep attacks on positions deep inside the occupied territories until Israel stops its war on Gaza and lifts its siege of the Palestinian territory.

Yemen began its anti-Israel operations after the regime on March 11 missed a four-day deadline set by Sana’a to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. Israel blocked the entry of basic supplies into Gaza on March 1 to pressure Hamas to accept its own terms of conditions to continue a ceasefire that had begun earlier this year.

Amid Yemen’s ultimatum, the U.S. launched airstrikes on Yemen on March 15, claiming that the aim was to protect international shipping. Yemen has rejected the claim, saying that the ongoing U.S. airstrikes are part of Washington’s support for Tel Aviv. Yemen has responded to the U.S. aggression by targeting its aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.

The latest U.S. airstrikes hit Yemen early on Tuesday, targeting the northern province of Sa’ada. The strike left a number of civilians injured, Sa’ada’s Human Rights Office said, without specifying. Meanwhile, Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV said that the U.S. strike in Sa’ada led to the complete destruction of the only cancer treatment hospital there. It said the medical facility had been damaged in another U.S. strike nearly a week ago.
