Zaidan Affirms The Judiciary’s Respect For Freedom Of Expression And Journalistic Work, Guaranteed By The Constitution

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, affirmed today, Tuesday, the judiciary’s respect for freedom of expression and journalistic work guaranteed under the constitution.

A statement to the media of the Judicial Council stated that Zaidan received, today, Tuesday, the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Muayyad Al-Lami, and discussed with him the judicial procedures and the Syndicate’s procedures regarding some journalists who violate the law while they are in the process of practicing their journalistic work.

According to the statement, the President of the Council affirmed that the judiciary respects freedom of expression and journalistic work, which is guaranteed under the constitution, provided that it does not violate the law and transgression against others.
