Zanzibar minister hopes Tehran, Zanzibar City expand bilateral ties

Tehran, IRNA – Zanzibar’s Minister of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children expressed hope that the two countries would broaden bilateral ties.

Nassor Mazrui, at the reception of Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian upon his arrival in Zanzibar City, said that the people of his country can have good cooperation with their brothers in Iran because the two countries are from the same culture.

He added that there were many issues to talk about and that they could establish a bridge between Iran and Zanzibar.

Expressing content over the fact that a business delegation was accompanying Amirabdollahian, the Zanzibari minister added his country was a center for trade in the past and hoped that history would repeat.

Amirabdollahian’s first visit to African countries as a foreign minister began on Monday, August 22. He first visited Mali and Tanzania; he then left Tanzania for Zanzibar late Thursday night
