100k Iranians gather to chant “Salute, Commander” anthem

Tehran, IRNA – Nearly 100,000 Iranians on Thursday gathered at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium to sing “Salute, Commander” song.

Although much more people registered to partake in the event, 100,000 people had the chance to attend the stadium, where the original singer of the chant, Abouzar Rouhi, was ready to lead the enormous choir.

The organizers have recommended people to avoid flocking to the stadium and watch the event broadcast live via the state TV channel 3.

Several renowned Iranian eulogists have also attended the stadium to company Mr. Rouhi.

In recent weeks, the song has made a wave of excitement throughout the county.

With the first floor of the all-seat stadium being fully occupied as well as three-fourth of the second floor, people were chanting the song in chorus while waving Iran’s flag, IRNA correspondent reported.
