12% growth in container operations in Imam Khomeini Port
For the second consecutive year, unloading and loading operations of containers in the first 5 months of the year (Iranian calendar) increased by more than 12% to 62,690 TEU.
The proper cooperation and coordination of Imam Khomeini port container terminal with the owners of goods and shipping lines, has resulted in increase of unloading and loading volume of container goods by 12%.
Considering the growing market demand and concluding a memorandum of cooperation in launching an export corridor to facilitate the export of container goods between the General Administration of Ports and Maritime of Khuzestan with the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization and with the participation of Customs and Southern Railway, Container trade through this port is predicted to be flourished in the near future.
