1979 Islamic Revolution strengthens Iran in all fields: Lebanese minister
BeirutThe 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran has strengthened the country in all fields, State Minister for Presidency Affairs of Lebanon Pierre Raffoul said.
'Since the beginning of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has been regarded as a big country and strong in political, economic and military fields,' Raffoul said while congratulating the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution to Iran Supreme Leader, officials and people.
'The country has always been standing by oppressed people,' he told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
'While dark shadow of terrorism has fallen on the region, Iran has reinforced its position in defending the region and participating in its future,' he added.
Iran has maintained active forces in the region and defeated terrorism, he said, adding that it is a good thing and we appreciate Iran and all its allies.
'The border barrier is a sign of fear. Today is not the time of failure for us, but it is the time of victory. The Israelis are scared but we are not,' he said, responding to a question on building a border barrier by the Zionist regime at border lines with Lebanon.
This move is in line with the Zionist regime occupying policy, he noted.
Commenting on US recent act to recognize Quds as capital of the Zionist regime, Raffoul said Quds is the capital of Palestine and all divine religions.
The ceremony to mark the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was held with the attendance of political, cultural and religious officials in Iran embassy in Beirut on Thursday night.
