1st Joint Committee of Iran and Iraq has been Established
Cultural ambassador of Iraq to Tehran, Dr Yasser paid an official visit to the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology to have a meeting with the Deputy of the Centre for International Scientific Cooperation, Dr Koohian.
Given the cultural and religious commonalities between the two countries and the previously signed MoU between Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and Ministry of Higher Education of Iraq, both sides emphasized on the importance of establishing a joint committee for defining a work roadmap for the cooperation of the two countries.
In this meeting, Dr Koohian referred to the significantly increased number of Iraqi students in Iran, and emphasized on the importance of making the most out of the existing potentials and expand our cooperation in the form of holding:' joint venture research projects',' joint degree programs and workshops', 'exchange of technical expertise, lecturers and students to take part in sabbatical leaves.
Moreover, Dr Koohian announced the readiness of universities of Alzahra and Amirkabir on establishing joint joint universities with Iraq, and readiness of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz on expanding cooperation with Iraq, and the potential visit of Minister Gholami to Iraq.
Dr Yaser also welcomed the aforementioned cooperation and highlighted the importance of forming a joint committee for scientific cooperation, and noted the long way to the ideal peak of cooperation of Iran and Iraq, and elaborated on the need for further educating administrative and academic Iraqi personnel and academics at Iranian universities.
