Cairo univ. president, French embassy official inaugurate national office of Agency of Francophonie

President of Cairo University Mohamed el Khosht inaugurated the national office of the Agency of the Francophonie in Egypt at the premises of the international Cairo University in 6th of October in present of Raphaƫl Martin de Lagarde, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of France.

The main goal of opening the office is to expand cooperation between the university and the agency to present its several services to students in the fields of training and entrepreneurship to improve their vocational skills to join the global labor market.

Within this context, conferences, seminars and meetings will be organized with different social and economic institutions, Khosht said.

The strategic plan of the university aims at developing the thinking of entrepreneurship, project management, training programs for joining the labor market and training on small productive projects, he said.

Inaugurating the office will be a new bridge for cooperation and interaction between the university and the
agency, he said.

PM follows up efforts of gov. unified complaints system in May

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday 08/6/2024 asserted utmost keenness on following upon the results and performance indexes of the Unified Government Complaints System.

The Premier made his remarks while reviewing efforts made by the complaints system in May through a report, which was presented by Director of the Unified Government Complaints System Tarek el Refaei.

The report highlighted the government’s efforts to deal with citizens’ complaints in the last month.

The total number of complaints submitted through the system in May amounted to 147,000, Refaei said.

EgyptAir to launch 3 new airlines in Africa as of July

EgyptAir announced that three new airlines will be launched in July to the Somali capital Mogadishu, the Ivory Coast capital Abidjan, as well as Djibouti.

Three flights will be operated per week – on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday – to Abidjan starting from July 9, Egypt’s national carrier said.

It added that two flights are set to be operated per week as of July 11 on an air route linking Cairo, Djibouti and Mogadishu.

The operation of the new routes will take the number of destinations in Africa that EgyptAir can reach to 26.

The number of EgyptAir Africa destinations is expected to rise to 32 by 2028 with the scheduled launch of new routes to Senegal’s Dakar, Angola’s Luanda, South Africa’s Cape Town, Mali’s Bamako, Zimbabwe’s Harare, and Zambia’s Lusaka.

Egypt advances 100 ranks in global ranking of road quality to be in 18th rank globally

The cabinet’s media center asserted that Egypt was able in the past ten years to build a interconnected national road network extending in different governorates.

This came in a report published by the center including infographics that shed light that Egypt advanced 100 ranks in the index of global ranking of road quality to come in the 18th rank globally within ten years because of the national road project.

The pace accelerated to develop the infrastructure and improve the quality of roads according to the global criteria as it is an important pillar to achieve the goals of economic and social development plans.

This will contribute to facilitating economic activities and attracting more investments to improve the living quality of the Egyptians in addition to increasing the safety rates on different roads and decrease the percentage of accidents, the report said.

About 6300 km roads were implement as part of 7000 km of the national road projects at a cost of EGP 155 billion, the report added.

EgyptAir to operate 1st flight to Alamien airport in July

EgyptAir announced that it will operate its first flight to Alamien city in the North Coast as of Thursday, July 11 till the end of the summer season by September 14.

The operation of the seasonal airline will be based on the concept of demand and supply, according to Egypt’s national carrier.

The flagship carrier operates two flights from Cairo to Alamien city on Thursday and Saturday on the board of aircraft B737-800, said EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman and CEO Yahia Zakaria in statements on Saturday 08/6/2024.

NCW head commends women’s participation in smart, green projects initiative

Chairperson of the National Council for Women Maya Morsi commended strong participation of women in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects.

Morsi ‘s remarks came at a meeting with General Coordinator of the initiative Hisham Badr following the launch of its third phase, that includes projects concerned with women.

She underlined the importance of the role of branches of the council and local teams in all governorates in raising public awareness about women, environment and climate change.

In turn, Badr thanked NCW and all success partners in the two previous editions and the current edition of the initiative.

Winning projects will be presented at COP29 in Azerbaijan, he added.
