7 terrorists, 20 Afghan suspects arrested in Pakistan
Islamabad, Aug 17, Security forces of Pakistan's Punjab province arrested seven terrorists and 20 'Afghan suspects' in intelligence-based operations carried out in different cities of the province.
Army media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the 'terrorists' that have been taken into custody are affiliated with the terrorist group 'Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan'(TTP).
According to the ISPR, the explosives and weapons recovered in the raids were likely to be used for terrorist activities in major cities of Punjab.
Afghanistan has yet to react on the detention of the 20 Afghan suspects in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, intelligence agencies and police arrested two suspects and recovered 20 killograms of explosives, 35 detonators, Afghan and UAE currency, along with heavy weapons in a combined operation in various parts of Taxila city.
