Academics effective in saving Iran from dependence on oil
Tehran, Chairman of the Iranian Parliamentary Education and Research Commission says academics could pass the country from the current difficulties by turning the technology into fortune and save the economy of dependence on oil.
Mohammad Reza Aref, visiting Amir Kabir University on Sunday, said if there is to be a scientific leap in the country, action is needed in this regard.
Aref emphasized the necessity of leading academics in all fields, pointing out the current state of the society and the sanctions against the country, and stated, 'The circumstances in which we live are considered to be an opportunity in one sense, because it is a compulsory achievement to construct the economy without relying on oil.'
He noted, 'Our ambition is that the economy of the country will turn from the oil economy to a non-oil economy, with the orientations in general policies the stress is on knowledge-based economy.'
