AL Chief blasts Trump decision
Tehran- Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, the head of the Arab League, has sharply criticized the US President Donald Trump for recognizing Al Quds as the capital of Israel (the Zionist regime), saying it would severely damage Arab-US ties.
Rusiya Al-Yaum website quotes Aboul-Gheit as saying that the change in position of Al Quds will unjustifiably provoke the sentiments of Arabs.
Earlier, the media reported that Trump planned to officially recognize Al Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime on Wednesday.
The US president has twice suspended the US Congress act on transfer of the US embassy to Al Quds from Tel Aviv and now wants to announce today the Quds city as the Zionist regime capital, thus paving the ground for transfer of the US Embassy to Quds.
The US Congress 1995 act mandates transfer of the US embassy to Quds but the US presidents one after another postponed implementation of the approval every six months.
Trump had in June signed the order for reinstatement of the US embassy in Tel Aviv and suspension of its transfer to the occupied Quds for six months and the date was expired on Monday.
